Manga/Anime Spotlight is a weekly feature that highlights the different artists across the deviantART's Manga/Anime community, and is a portal to get to know a bit more about them and their works.

1.) To start off, what is your favorite medium and tools to use?
My current favorite medium to work with is digital art. I use Photoshop CS4 and SAI, I don't use a tablet, only a mouse. I still love traditional art, but I use it less than years ago. But I do sketch every single piece of mine, before I scan them and finish on computer, so I still work with traditionals

2.) When you draw, do you plan everything out first, or do you just see where the drawing takes you?
Usually I plan everything, but of course often it comes out totally different than planned. But also sometimes I do just sketch and sketch a lot and then see what the drawing brings me

A Brief dA WalkthroughI know you probably all have a fairly decent idea of all that you can do on dA, but you can't go wrong doing a bit of a refresher course!
When you first log in (or when you click the "deviantART" link in the top left corner of any dA page), you get taken to the front page of dA. This is where you can search deviations, or just browse to see what's there. The "Popular" browse feature was just revamped to give fairer exposure to all popular art, not just the overall popular on dA. Use the popular browse to see what's popular in all the galleries. SOPA and Protect IP Awarenessalot of people dont know what these are,and i know this isnt exactly relevant to this group,but this is urgent.
SOPA means Stop Online Piracy Act:
this sounds like a good thing right? wrong.
this will block ANY SITE (including DeviantART) for just a link with copyrighted content.and also,you can end up going to jail for 5 years just for drawing fanart.it will also completely kill the DNS system.
Protect IP (PIPA) is just as bad.
the fate of the internet will be determined on January 24th 2012.
if these pass,say goodbye to DeviantART and everything else including Facebook,Youtube,Google,Yahoo....(endless list)
even if your not in the US,this still effects you.
contact your congressmen,your senators.sign the petitions,link anything anywhere about this topic,make flyers and push them to the front page,boycott the supporters,anything you feel is needed to fight these bills.
its up to us to stop this.

Well, with a couple of commissions, promised drawings and a sketch card set to work on I've also been give a lot of extra hours at work (partly due to someone leaving, some holidays and other things.) which I can't complain about! But I realised with things getting increasingly busy it would not be sensible to offer the usual full commission service over Christmas - although I did very well out of commissions this time last year which I'm very grateful for.
So after some thought I decided that I will only be offering Quick Commissions between now and January (when normal commissions will be available again, although I may overhaul my commission information before then) The good news is I am willing to accept points as payment as well as paypal.

Happy Holiday

I try to give out the result faster than usual since DA is having promotions for premium member subscription. That's why I try to give you the result sooner so you may use your points for it. Though it's not enough but I hope it can help some how

.

With a lot of entries therefore it took me while to choose top 5. This time, so many good entries with great concepts. It's really hard for me to pick 5 only.
I don't pick the top 5 base on drawing skills only but also the concept of their entries. But there were more than 20 entries I want to pick as winners :C. But don't worry, we will have more challenges in future.

I am truly sorry for who don't make it, not because you are not good but because we only choose 5 here. As I usually said for challenge, it's not a contest, it likes a little 'push', a little motivation for you to draw (it's also a reason why the prize for top 5 is just little). If you don't make it this time but I believe you earn something else, it's experience & fun when you made your entry right?
